The Ventana Remote Operating (Underwater) Vehicle – (ROV) is perhaps one of the most prolific and enduring submersibles in operation. With a record of over 4,100 dives, ROV Ventana is by far the most experienced and enduring scientific ROV in the world. For 30 years, this underwater robot has given researchers a window into the deep sea. Operating at depths of more than 1700 metres the Ventana equipped with manipulator arms for grabbing, moving, or placing items in the sea. High-definition video and still cameras on the vehicle record images of sea life, geology, and experiments.
